About this service
The Liverpool Sleep and Ventilation Centre is a regional and national tertiary service providing care for a range of sleep and ventilation disorders.
A purpose-built centre houses state of the art diagnostic and treatment facilities for a wide range of sleep and sleep breathing disorders.
Sleep investigations and treatments are undertaken at home as outpatients, or in comfortable private sleep investigation rooms with modern en-suite facilities.
A dedicated Ventilation Inpatient Centre cares for patients with a need for complex ventilatory support, including neuromuscular diseases and weaning from mechanical ventilation.
Services provided include:
- Snoring and Sleep Apnoea
- Hypoventilation and Ventilatory Failure
- Long term invasive ventilation
- Excessive sleepiness
- Narcolepsy and Cataplexy
- Movement Disorders in Sleep
- Restless Legs and Periodic Limb Movement
- Circadian Sleep Rhythm disorders
- Driving and DVLA advice.
Referrals are received from both General Practitioners (GPs) and hospital doctors. Once you have been referred to the sleep service you will come under the care of one of our two consultants who specialise in sleep medicine. You can make your own appointment through the 'Choose & Book' system after seeing your GP.
