Living Well Sefton

Ever thought it was time to change how you live in order to improve your health? Living a healthy life doesn’t mean making huge alterations. But making a change can make you feel good about yourself. Living Well Sefton is a FREE service with a focus on supporting people with issues that may be affecting their health and wellbeing. It is collaboration of various Sefton organisations which have the expertise and knowledge to share with you.

As part of the service, there are a number of Living Well Mentors to talk to and they work with you on a one-to-one basis to identify health areas to see where small tweaks can be made but may have a big impact on improving your health.

Healthy Knowsley Service

Healthy Knowsley Service can support you to make small changes to your lifestyle that result in a big difference to your health and wellbeing. The service will support you to set achievable lifestyle goals, allowing you to meet long term aims.

The service is open to adults (18+) and families in Knowsley who want to take steps towards a healthier lifestyle. You may want to focus one or more of the following areas:

  • Healthy eating
  • Becoming more active
  • Weight management
  • Stopping smoking
  • Sensible drinking
  • Preventing diabetes

The Life Rooms

A free NHS service who provide a safe and welcoming space to meet others, access opportunities and learn about community resources. The Life Rooms offers support for those wanting to take the next steps in their life. Services are available to anyone.

The Life Rooms offers opportunities in relation to:

  • Trusted partners
  • Life Rooms Advisory Group (LRAG)

Additionally, The Life Rooms provides access to community resources including:

Talk Liverpool

Talk Liverpool is an Improved Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service. They are commissioned by Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) who report to NHS England. They treat a range of common mental health problems in a stepped care model. They offer a full range of approved evidence based therapies, and have approximately 120 clinical staff including Psychological Well-being practitioners (PWPs), Support workers, Cognitive Behaviour Therapists (CBT) and Counsellors.

Think Wellbeing – Knowsley

Think Wellbeing offers free NHS therapy for people in Knowsley with common mental health problems like anxiety or depression, to help you change the way you feel by changing the way you think.

They provide our easy-to-access, flexible therapy options to suit your lifestyle.

The service is for adults age 16 and over with common mental health problems like mild to moderate depression, anxiety and stress. We can help with other problems like panic attacks, phobias and post traumatic stress disorder.

The service is available to anyone who is registered with a Knowsley GP.

You can refer yourself to the service today by clicking the 'self-refer to our service' button on the right side of the below page and filling in the simple online referral form. Alternatively, you can visit your GP who will be able to make a referral to our service on your behalf.


Access Sefton

Access Sefton is a free, confidential service, commissioned by the NHS. The service is available to anyone aged 16+ and registered with a Sefton* GP. Access Sefton talking therapies are an effective treatment for common mental health conditions, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Stress
  • Phobia
  • Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Panic

Treatments available in Sefton include guided self-help, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and counselling.

*Sefton includes Crosby, Blundellsands, Waterloo, Seaforth, Litherland, Netherton, Bootle, Maghull, Hightown, Formby, Ainsdale, Birkdale, and Southport.

Escape Pain

If you are suffering with hip or knee pain, you can join the ESCAPE-pain class. Meet other people living with arthritis and learn information and simple ways to better manage your knee and/or hip pain. You will receive a gentle, individualized exercise programme that matches your needs and pace.

Healthiness LTD

Healthiness is a non-profit health and exercise provider established in 2011. Our mission is to increase physical activity and reduce social isolation of older people and people experiencing physical and mental health issues in Liverpool communities through delivering health messages and offering exercise and health education classes across the city. We are a social enterprise company funded by the Big Lottery's Reaching Communities fund (our broad programme), the Henry Smith Foundation (the Healthy Brain, Active Body project) and Sport England in conjunction with NHS England (the ESCAPE-pain programme).

We offer a wide variety of exercise classes, which cover all ability levels from beginner to expert: chair-based exercise (including chair fitness, chair aerobics, active bingo and boccia), specialist 50+ community fitness (including boxercise, circuit training, dancing, toning, yoga and stretching), ESCAPE-pain for people with arthritis, walking and cycling groups, boot camp and couch to 5K.
