Who we are

Our Spinal Physiotherapy service consists of clinical specialists, senior and staff grade physiotherapists.

We work across five sites; Aintree Hospital, Burlington House, Yew Tree Centre, Ropewalks and St. Chads Medical centre and in collaboration with the Walton Centre for neurology.

Our therapists provide assessment and triage, and referral for appropriate investigations and specialist physiotherapy treatment for acute, chronic and post-operative patients with spinal conditions. This can consist of one to one Physiotherapy treatment but can also include our classes: Spinal Pilates and Back to Fitness. Hydrotherapy can also be a treatment option and is offered at our Aintree site.

We are passionate about providing evidence based care and supporting patients with any spinal related pain.

Spinal Pilates

This is a class for patients lead by a Senior Physiotherapist with APPI Pilates instructor qualification. The class aims to work on strength and flexibility with a selection of graded Pilates exercises. Exercises are progressed in a graded fashion and participants will be given written guidance to continue their treatment at home.

Back to Fitness

This is a dedicated class for back or neck pain that has become more persistent. Our Physiotherapy team provide guidance on the different factors that can contribute towards pain and how best to manage it. There is a graded exercise component to the class that is tailored to each individual participant.
