Meet your team

The Consultants are specialists in Diabetes and Endocrinology.  You may see them in our Treatment and Assessment [T&A] Clinic.  As specialist doctors who also work in hospital clinics and hospital wards, they have a wide range of experience and expertise and support all members of the team.

You may see the Nurses at our Treatment and Assessment [T&A] clinics and our Intensive Management [IM] clinics or at the Diabetes and You and ‘Pop up’ education sessions. The Nurses also provide support to your GP and Practice Nurse as well as to patients who are housebound. You may also meet them at our healthcare events.

The Dietitians are qualified health professionals that can provide you with the most up to date, evidence based dietary information to help manage your diabetes. We understand that a diagnosis of diabetes can leave you feeling confused about what to eat and we want to help you feel more confident with your food choices and dispel any myths. Our Dietitians understand the factors that can contribute to lifestyle choices and are able to help motivate patients to set realistic dietary goals. You can access our team of Dietitians by asking your GP to refer you in, where you can be seen in our group education sessions or on a 1:1 basis if required.

The Podiatry team are a group of several podiatrists working in health centres all over the city and also treat patients in the their own homes. They provide advice and treatment on diabetic foot problems and also provide routine foot care for high risk diabetics. They work alongside nurses in the management of more serious foot conditions and liaise with other members of the team.

Our Healthcare assistants work alongside our clinicians in the Treatment and Assessment Clinic (T&A). You may also meet them at one of our many healthcare events. 

You will probably speak to them rather than see them, but our Admin team deal with all appointment enquiries and are there support you and the staff to get the right care at the right time.
