Congratulations to Doaa Ali Ahmed, September’s Volunteer of the Month.

Doaa has been at Aintree for more than a year and helps care for our elderly and critical patients.

She was nominated for the award by a member of the Critical Care team for her “indisputable passion and commitment to helping others.”

Alongside caring for her communities ill and injured, Doaa works and has just gained herself a place at Edge Hill University studying a Physician Associate degree.

Morag Charmichael, Lead Nurse for Aintree’s Assessment Accreditation, presented a humbled Doaa with her trophy.

Doaa said: “It is an honour to win this award. Aintree has so many dedicated volunteers and to be handpicked from such a brilliant bunch of people is a lovely feeling. The support I have received from my fellow volunteers and the ward staff has been fantastic and spurred me on to pursue and hopefully gain a career within the NHS.”
