Austin McCormick graduated from The University of Sheffield Medical School, UK in 1997. He undertook ophthalmology training began in Sheffield before moving to Liverpool to complete ophthalmic surgical training. He completed 2 Oculoplastic Fellowships each for one year: Auckland, New Zealand and Manchester UK. During these I specialised in Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Orbital Surgery.

Mr McCormick specialises in reconstructive eyelid surgery, lacrimal surgery for watery eyes, thyroid eye disease surgery, orbital surgery and eye socket problems for people with ocular prosthesis. With a fellow consultant colleague, he provides a regional oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital service.

Mr McCormick is a member of The British Oculo Plastic Surgery Society (BOPSS) and in 2014 helped organise their national meeting in Liverpool
