North West Assistive Technology (NWAT) is a regional service commissioned by NHS England to provide Environmental Control equipment for adults and children with complex physical disabilities and long term medical conditions, in order to improve their independence, quality of life, safety and participation.
Our multi-disciplinary team is led by Dr Ganesh Bavikatte Consultant (Rehabilitation Medicine) and Clinical Lead. Serving a population of 6.7 million people in the Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside, Lancashire, and South Cumbria regions, the team comprises of;

- Rehabilitation Engineers
- Occupational Therapists
We are based at Aintree University Hospital, Liverpool, with a close association with the Walton Foundation Trust. We have links across the region to Teaching Hospitals, Social Services departments and Third Sector organisations such as MNDA.
