Bereavement is when someone close to you has died.
These pages give you information about:
How we can help if someone has died at Aintree University Hospital.
The staff who can help you.
How to contact us.
The staff at Aintree University Hospital would like to express our sympathy to you following your recent bereavement.
When someone dies there are many arrangements to be made.
We hope the information provided on these pages will provide you with guidance about what to do and to help you during this difficult time.
The ward should have provided you with the ‘Help for you following a bereavement’ and the ‘Coping with Grief’ booklet which should also help guide you.
You should also have been provided with a packet of forget-me-not seeds as an offer of condolence that you may wish to plant in memory of your loved one.
If your relative has died on a ward other than Critical Care or the Emergency Department and you wish to request a memento such as a handprint, you should speak to a member of the bereavement team who will explain the requirements for this request via the nominated next of kin.
