Aintree University Hospital operates a ticketless, pay-on-foot system, which utilises number plate recognition.

This means you do not need to pay and display ahead of your visit.

Your number plate will be registered by the barrier system on arrival. Before you leave you must enter your number plate into one of our payment machines, which take a range of cash only, cash and car or card only.

Aintree's site currently has over 3,000 on-site car parking spaces for patients, visitors and staff, including blue badge spaces across the site.

Our carparks can be very busy, particularly during visiting times.  If you are able to use public transport you may wish to consider this as an alternative to driving.

Please do not park anywhere other than a designated visitor or patient carpark space to avoid causing an obstruction to emergency vehicles, and incurring an Excess Charge Notice.

In order to ensure we can continue to provide sufficient and accessible parking to visitors, Aintree has a charging system for parking.

These charges apply to all vehicles including motorbikes:

Free car parking, weekly pass and concessions

Free parking is offered to patients receiving cancer treatment and any patients who require regular, lengthy and prolonged visits.

Patients will qualify if they visit the hospital at least once a fortnight, for more than 3½ hours and for a period of more than six months.

These concessions have to be authorised by ward or clinic managers.

Relatives and visitors can obtain a weekly ticket for unlimited parking at a cost of £17.50 per week.

This can be purchased from the Multistorey Car Park (MSCP) and Main Reception payment machines. Please follow the instructions on the signage next to the machines.

Please activate the ticket by using it to enter and exit the car park barriers.

For more information, please contact the General Office on 0151 529 3458 / 2642.

Blue badge holders

Marked disabled bays are available for drivers who have a disability and are Local Authority Blue Badge Holders.

Please note that all users (including blue badge holders) are required to pay before exiting our barrier car parks (including the multi storey car park). All other spaces are covered by pay and display machines.
